"Alzheimer’s
I am writing this story so that some one else may enjoy the same piece of mind that I am.
It started last year when I noticed that my dad was not remembering things as well as he always had in the past. I discussed it with one of my cousins and my older sister. My cousins agreed with me that dad did not seem as clear headed any he always had.
We both started noticing little things like he would repeat himself several times during any given conversation.
Dad seems to be reliving a lot of stories from his past with much more frequency. He also seemed to get confused when ever he and I would go some where, I would have to correct his direction every once in a while.
This went on for about 6 months with me watching him closely every time I was around him.
I discussed this with my mother and at the time see said she had not noticed this but would keep an eye on him.
I found out that on one occasion he was coming from my younger sisters house who lives just 2 miles away, he went the wrong direction and wound up on the other side of town.
On another occasion dad was supposed to meet me in Marlow Oklahoma and wound up about 100 miles away not real sure where he was. That was a very stressful day as I had to keep talking to him on the phone till he mentioned something I recognized and was able to determine where he was so I could go get him and have him follow me back to his home.
I will always remember Thanks Giving of 2009 that when dad told my older sister and I that the doctor had diagnose him with early stages of Alzheimer’s that was probably the worse news I could have ever imagined. The doctor put him on one of the top drugs for that at the time. Dad was on the medication for approximately 3 months, he was getting worse the final straw was when he went to down town Oklahoma city and could not get back home to Mustang Oklahoma. He started following my mother around like a puppy as he was, I guess afraid to venture out on his own. I talked to my chiropractor Tim Young and flat out ask him if this was your dad what you would do. He suggested taking him to a nutritionist and see what their opinion was. I decided to go first as I would send my dad to some one I had not gone to just to see what it was all about. I met with Keith Bishop
And had testing done on myself and he put me some supplements and I started taking them.
My dad being old school I figured I would have to carry him down there hog tied and screaming every inch of the way.
I was actually able to convince him to go without to much trouble he really surprised and amazed me. Because I had already gone to see Keith and was impressed dad must have figured I was pretty serious about him going to see Keith and therefore would make the trip on his own with mom driving of course.
I went by any way just to make sure he did not miss the appointment just to ease my mind.
Keith put dad on some supplements, dad started taking them religiously and within three months dad was his old ornery self again. I was very impressed and amazed.
If any one reading this story has a loved one with any of the symptoms I have described I urge you to make an appointment with Keith Bishop to see if there is anything he can do to help.
I myself cannot thank Keith enough and mere words do not do the trick either, but I can tell you the man gave me back my dad who I love dearly and that’s a fact!
Yours most sincerely,
Damon Dean Pease Jr."
